I was at the Nissan Dealership taking an up close look at the new Nissan Micra. I walked away impressed the quality was better than expected and the car was also roomier than expected. If I had not bought a new car last August this would definitely be my car of choice. It's fantastic in every way and the closest thing to a Kei car you can buy in Canada.
My trim level of choice would be the Micra S (base model) with Auto. I know I know why not manual you ask.
The only reason I would get the Auto is that because the Auto version of the base model gets A/C & Cruise. A/C is an absolute must for me because I have Ear problems and I wear a hearing aid(I'm only 29) I simply cannot drive with the windows down the wind is absolutely unbearable for someone in my situation.
Unfortunately you cannot buy the Base model with Manual and A/C you need to jump to the SV(Mid level) for that.
The other benefit of the auto is that the wife can drive it therefor I will always have a designated driver as she does not drink. To me beer is like Lays potato chips "betcha can't have just one". We always randomly end up at friends houses unplanned so this is a good feature.
Of course with the Auto it is more expensive and no longer a $9998.00 CAD (9,158.00 USD) car.
The Micra S auto is $13,298.00 CAD (12,180.00 USD). once you factor in Freight,PDI and taxes you are looking at $15,565.00 CAD (14,255.00 USD) out the door.
If you are unaware $13,298 CAD (12,180.00 USD) is the lowest price new car in Canada to have A/C which still makes it one hell of a deal.

But..
You can in Indonesia, it cost 14k or so. Even sometimes us thinks that driving auto is harder than manuel.

It's certainly better looking with the facelift over the previous Micra.
It has a little more family resemblance with the Juke and the QashQai now.

the mid level SV is just under 14K and it has manual and A/C. Since this would be for me just commuter car auto would be nice for stop and go traffic. If I had one of these I would have something else as my weekend toy and that would certainly have a stick.
The fact that I can get Auto and A/C for less than Manual and A/C makes it an easy choice for me.

we have it here in Mexico, and yes, it is pretty cool. MUCH Better than the horrid Versa.

I love it it's such a bargain. I really regret buying a new car last year this would cost less than half of my current Ford Fusion.

Anyone else see "QashQai" and pronounce it "Cash Cow"?
